Five for Friday-Spring Break & a FREEBIE!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a fantastic Friday! I'm enjoying the tail end of my Spring Break with relaxing and watching Golden Girls! I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share what's been going on this week!

New FREEBIE! This week I created these adorable posters with one of my favorite quotes!

I'm currently working on this Daily Language book! Click {HERE} to read more about it!
I also created another font for $1.00 at my TPT store! I'm just loving hand drawn fonts!
My spring break has consisted of cuddling with my 3 fur babies, watching a lot of Criminal Minds on Netflix, creating products for my TPT store, and going on runs with my mom! I'm trying to work back up to 6 miles. Right now I'm at 4. Yesterday we went on a 4 mile trail run. I am definitely out of shape when it comes to running on trails. Running on the road is much different than running up and downhill in the woods! ha!

Now I just need to get motivated to finish grading all these papers!

I hope you all have a happy Friday and a great weekend! Talk to you soon!

What I've been working on

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share what I've been working on! Each morning my students complete a day on their Language 4 Today sheets. I really like the Language 4 Today book, however it does not have enough grammar practice. So, I decided to create my own Daily Language book! I will be using both next year! In my Daily Language book, I have separated it by skill. This way, I can find the skills we are currently working on easily! This new product is a huge work in progress.

The Daily Language book is broken up by weeks. I'm planning that it should be able to last the entire year. This means it should last about 40-45 weeks. We shall see how it goes!

Here's a sneak peak of my Daily Language book!

I am hoping that this will be available by the beginning of summer! :)

Have a great night!

Monday Made It: Writer's Workshop Folder and Fonts

Good afternoon everybody!

I'm teaming up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It!

Friday started my beautiful Spring Break! Last week my students worked on a few writing assignments. In my classroom I have Writer's Workshop Folders that the students use when they are writing. The folder included miscellaneous handouts to aid in the writing process. As the students were using the folder, I realized I want to create my own handouts to go inside the folder and organize everything to my liking. So, that is what I have been working on the last few days.
The Writer's Workshop Folder is now for sale at my TPT store for $3.50. You can go to my store {HERE} or click the image below!

I will add images of the actual finished product when we return from Spring Break so you can see it in action.

Yesterday I also created my first font! I used the font in my Writer's Workshop Folder. You can check that out by clicking the image below:

Here are some more fonts I made recently! Click the images to purchase! All of my fonts are $1.00.

Have a great sunshiny day!

Instrumental Hip Hop and Novel Studies

Hey all!

Today we are jamming out to instrumental hip hop music and completing some of our novel packet for the novel we've been reading. We have started reading The Apprenticeship of Lucas Whitaker. I absolutely love this book. It is about a young boy who loses his family to consumption (tuberculosis) and leaves his home. He becomes an apprentice to a doctor. It is set in the 1800's. My students are so amazed at the history of medicine. They are baffled at how limited the knowledge of medicine and germs were in the 1800's.

I let my students work with a partner or in a group of 3 today, and they could work anywhere in the room. They love this! After they independently answered the questions for the chapters, we discussed the correct answers. I've used novel packets in different ways in the past. Sometimes I take pages for a grade and other times I use it as a discussion tool. The novel packet is basically their study packet for the test. For this particular novel our test will be at the very end.

Five For Friday: Presenting & Working on New Products

This has been such a busy week!

This week I presented at Camp RTI on our new parish guidebooks for teachers. The Common Core Task Force Committee I'm on created guidebooks that align with our new textbook series, Reading Wonders.

I've beenvorming very hard on a lot of items that will be sold on my TpT site. Currently I'm working on weekly outlines to go with the Wonders series, a Parent Handbook, and a new Book Study for Who Were the Wright Brothers. I sure hope I get all of this done by the first week of school. I have so much to do. I'm sure you all understand that. A teachers work is never done. lol

I've been working in my classroom some this week as well! I'm done with the decorating part, but I still have the little things to work on in my room. You can see more pics under My Classroom tab. :)

I downloaded these amazing Interactive Notebooks! I am so excited to use these in my classroom!!!! You can find them {HERE}

Last, but definitely not least, today is my hubby's birthday! He's out of town on training for his job, but he'll be back late tonight. I can't wait to see him and celebrate with him!
